BILL DOUGAL is a professional artist and musician. He began working in film by producing and featuring in a dozen videos in the 80s for his rock band. His documentary of the band is available, “Billy & the Buttons – The Rock Doc”. He moved from there to narrative story-telling with his silent movie, “The Artist and the Model.”
He has been performing educational programs for children since the late 80s as Cowboy Billy, who teaches character values with humor and song. The material was the starting point for his video programs, OK Corral, and Hat Full of Fun. His drawing tricks easel show combined with teaching core value standards in math, and geometry, resulting in a video, “Fast Draw Fun”. While drawing caricatures at Mystic Aquarium, he got inspired about marine life, and created songs, script and artwork that become a video program, “Fish Fact Fun”. Bill was presented with a regional initiative grant by the State of Connecticut for the live version tour of the Fish Fact Fun Show.
His background as art director at advertising agencies, and as a freelance illustrator have prepared him to efficiently make storyboards and artwork for his productions. Writing for a comedy radio show, “Myth America” and for The Buttons’ stage shows prepared him to write scripts for his films.
